Australia New Assessment Levels
In the midst of pandemic crisis, there is some positive news for some of our prospective student applicants. Australian government has just revised an updated lists of assessment levels for foreign countries and education institutions.
If you are holding a passport from the People’s Republic of China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Indonesia, the good news is that they are now listed among other countries as Level 1 nations. Level 1 countries are considered as “safe” countries and they represent the lowest immigration risk. The greater the Assessment Level, the more evidence an applicant is required to demonstrate to support their claims for the grant of a student visa.
When a visa officer assessing each application, he is guided by departmental policies and guidelines including good risk management practices. These levels are tools to help officers to decide on the outcome of each case.
For example, if you are a Cambodian student applying for student visa to study in a Level 1 institution, then you will require less evidential proof as compared to someone applying from a Level 4 country. To assist our clients, I am posting some of the countries where our student clients are coming from.
Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 |
China | Malaysia | Nepal |
Hong Kong | Vietnam | India |
Taiwan | Thailand | Pakistan |
Indonesia | Bangladesh | Bhutan |
Singapore | ||
Cambodia |
Note: Australia migration department may change the level any time when necessary. Intended students should take advantage of the current situation and prepare for the lodge of your application as soon as possible. Officers reserve the right to request additional documents if they feel necessary regardless of the country level.
